scent organ by Wolfgang Georgsdorf
SMELLER is a genuine organ, an olfactokinetic art device for composing, producing, interpreting, programming, recording, storing and playing back compositions made up of scents and scent chords.
The development of ‘Smeller 2.0’ was hosted and cofunded by the OK Lab Project for the exhibition ‘Sensory Sensation’ (Sinnesrausch), which is taking place from June 14th until September 20th 2012 in Linz, Austria.
In 2016 the electronic scent organ Smeller 2.0 was installed in the art space St. Johannes Evangelist Church from July 15th to September 18th, 2016. In this nine-week event series, the Osmodrama Festival combines the presentational formats of performance, exhibition and lab work.
