Competition entry for the redesign of a town square
The design makes use of height differences in the terrain to accommodate key commercial spaces above and below the pedestrian areas. The sloping terrain creates square-like areas merging EG 0 and EG 1, and connects the council building, the park to the north, and the town hall square.
Thus, a multi-purpose inner-city open space is created. The open areas are dynamically shaped, narrowing and widening, travelling up and down around buildings and squares, creating a flowing spatial experience.
