Touch, sense of direction and sense of balance - through these physical senses visual perception is possible. `Verticalcave' speaks to all of these senses. The spatial experience is an intense physical exercise where the space reacts to movement of the body as a component of the installation.

Construction:
Eleven cubic metres of high strength foam rise 4.5m from a weighted wooden crate. The foam block is fastened to the foundation using belts. The interior was cut using 120cm long spring steel blades. The body weight of the visitor causes a controlled oscillation in the foam structure.
